Is anyone making an after market pickup for the 2460. I took mine off awhile back and it is breaking down to the point that I won't risk putting it back on. I think it looks better without it but have saved it for collector value.

It's bound tortoise, I guess.
Most affordable aftermarket ES (and copies) pickguards are black.
Bound tortoise pickguards are mostly custom made and expensive. (But beautiful)

After a new Windows XP installation (my girlfriends laptop crashed: damaged config SAM), I lost my bookmarks. But I remember the name "pickguard heaven". They sell custom made pickguards, also for Ibanez.

http://pickguards.us/

or more specific:
http://pickguards.us/priceibanez.html

I think you need either material 41 or 112, which is class E.
I'm not sure, but I think model 3258 (AF120BS) might fit. ($45.=)
But it's good to draw a template of your own pickguard, measure the dimensions and PU distances.

You could also buy a black L-5 plate for €8.12 like this one:
http://www.backandforth.nl/scratchplates.html
As you see, standard black Gibson imitation pickguards are much cheaper.

It's price against beauty.
If you just want to protect your top, you could (temporarily) go for cheap.

I was lucky to find such a bound tortoise pickguard on my second hand Gibson The Paul (way to big) and put it on my AS120: beautiful!

(I wouldn't have paid $45.= but then again I don't own a 2460)

Guys,

ALLPARTS carries bound tortoise pickguards at a very reasonable price.

Which PG-nr do you mean? The one I found is $80.=
We're talking L-5CES type here, not ES-335 (only $20.= which is interesting for AS types).
BTW:
I'm missing a lot of pictures in this catalogue.

Thanks anyway: $20.= to dress up an AS with tortoise is a good tip. But I'd like to see if it's really bound.

That's what I said $80.=
That's IMO a lot of money.
Compared to their bound tortoise ES-335 pickguards for $20.=
So because you have an L-5, they assume you'll be willing to pay 400% for the same material.

Pickguard Heaven make AF120 tortoise pickups for $45.=
But they say nothing about a 5-ply binding.

There MUST be better options than $80.=

If you are afraid the tortoise will start gassing out, you could try this black E-1-4BK for €11.50
http://www.backandforth.nl/scratchplates.html
Cheap and functional. Keep the original outside the case or keep the guitar in a quick lock stand instead of in the case.

Correction, NOT THE E-1-4BK, because that's an ES-175 pickguard;
For an L-5 type you should order the JZ3-B for €8.12/ $10.30
Windows Search missed it because they spelled it with an underscore instead of a dash Caps Lock.
