Just saw this one on Ebay. Description not very adequate, but a beautiful guitar. Look at the tailpiece and the spruce top. Same guitar as the Ibanez 2455.

It is a 2455. I had one a couple of years back. Great sounding guitar and much nicer overall than the 2355M that I owned at the same time.

Six,
Was the nut wider than the 2355m's?
And do you remember how the top was?
Solid? Carved or pressed?
Feedback problems?

I still love my 2355m btw. It's mint and valuable, but it's not my best jazz guitar. My Aria L-1000 (aka PE-180) has the best neck and the same tailpiece as this 2455.

Yeah a bit wider. Think it was pressed. Can't remember. I'll send you a pic and you can post it if you like.

It went for $1000.-
That's much less than a minty Ibanez 2355m. So, here we see what the Ibanez brand name is worth.
The better guitar goes for a lower price.

Six, did you expect this to happen?

No, you wouldn't think it could Ginger but it happens every day on ebay. Bargains are out there. Probably this time of year helps too. As Crimbo comes around people need more cash so may have to let things go. By the same token, most people are not in a position to 'buy' this time of year so thats good for someone with cash to spare.

Moral. Save your pennies for Christmas time

Hi everybody

This is my first post on this forum. Could you help me with a problem (or blessing?) of mine? It was me who won this guitar on eBay. I found this topic via google while trying to find more information about it.

I know it's a bargain but for some reason I don't feel really good about my win. I didn't expect myself to win this guitar at all. This morning I was suprised to find an email in my inbox saying that I had won.

Things that make me worry are the brandless headstock for example and the pictures taken, which is in my opinion a job not very well done. I miss pictures of the whole guitar and closeups on the string height of the fretboard. I don't really care about scratches and dents. I have my doubts about the overall quality too. Do you think this guitar has a neck just as nice as modern Ibanezes? If it does I'll certainly look forward to owning this instrument. I haven't played a lot of different guitars yet, though, and certainly are not experienced playing big jazz guitars, which is why this buy is scary for me as I don't know what to expect at all. Do you think I could sell the guitar for the same amount of money again, if the situation arises that I don't really like it? This question is especially aimed at gemberbier, as he seems to know a lot about these guitars and the Dutch scene, which is where I'm from and will be returning in the summer of 2007.

Right now I'm negotiating with the seller about canceling the whole transaction. Or would that be a stupid thing to do, regarding the good price I got?
The seller will either sell the guitar to me or wants to charge me 130 dollars of advertisement and selling fees.

Thank you so much for reading this all and please tell me what you think about the quality of this guitar and the best thing for me to do right now.

Regards
Maarten Slagter

Wow! if I didn't already have 3 jazz guitars I would have jumped on to that one Martin. This 'Dutchman' from the USA used to have a guitar store and knows quality when he sees it. Anything that you are concerned with can easily be fixed (if its broke) but, if your a player who has yearned for a good jazz guitar at a very reasonable price- looks like you got it!!

Heeey thanks guys!
I'm feeling much better already.

Still wondering whether you had a good deal or not?
