Anyone here know anything about these pickups?? Does anyone recommend them? Does anyone recommend against using them?? They seem to be REAL good.. But.. Then again.. Do they sound better than what already onboard most vintage guits??? Hmmm.. I wonder... They sound really good to me!!! I'm thinking about pbuying some to put in my next guitar.. I wouldn't think about replacing my super 80's in my 2619.. But maybe in a LP copy!!

Russell, ive been looking long and hard at pickups and BAREKNUCKLES i had a long good look at...
theyre made in england and as with any pickups they come in various makes for different sounds. theyre apparently handwound, i really dont know how true or untrue that is but one thing i can vouch for is their incredible output, theyre passive and have great sound. the guitar i tried that had them was a SZ520, im not sure what model pickups were in the neck or bridge but shees, did that guitar sound good, much much better that the stock pickups and i would definitely consider them in my guitars, theyre priced about the same as SD's, the only reason i didnt go with them for my project was because there is no dealer for them here in south africa and the ones that were here were imported for some fellow who wanted some and then never bought them... go figure...
the guy at the store that had them put them into his own sz520 and he is verrrry fond of them, they got a great bluesy tone. if youre interested i can ask him what model they are

Both myself and Overdriver have sets of Bare Knuckle Pickups in various guitars, I think he has a Nailbomb set in one of his Artist's, can't remember which other sets he has.

They're scatter wound by hand here in the UK, the price you see on the website is including UK VAT, if you buy from overseas, you are exempt from UK VAT. Their forum is helpful, friendly and informative as well. Plus it has many a clip recorded by forum-ites in many different styles so you can hear the pickups you're interested in.

I have a few sets in various guitars, Black Dog & Emerald in MIJ LP "replica's", a Crawler set and a bridge VHII in a 70's & reissue Iceman respectively.

FWIW: They sound far better than any other pickup I've used and heard in the past. The string to string definition is second to none, and these pickups just seem to make the guitars sound so much better, and just have a lot more tone. They practically play themselves!

Mules are great "all round" pickups, and are a popular choice.

Hey guys.. Anyone here know anything about setting up a set of Bareknuckle pickups with a tri sound switch in a PF400. I asked Tim at Bareknuckles and he mentioned I would need to get a pickup with 4 wires.. They offer this option on their pickups. Will this work? Do any of you guys know if I can have this setup this way? Any help would be appreciated!

Ok.. I just bought a pair of gold BK Muke Pickups for my PF400.. I will let you all know how it works out.. So far I've been happy with the sound coming out of the Super 70's in the PF400.. I like them better than the Super 80's in my 2619... Anyways.. I will let you all know how it works out!

Ok... It's finally done... I just had my 1978 PF 400 Fixed up.. I had a complete fret dress done (A fret or two needed replacing as well...) Kobs were replaced with origianl suregrips...I had the Super 70's replaced with Bareknuckle Mule pickups.. I was a little worried about this.. I really liked the Super 70's that we're already in it... But I decided to take the big leap of faith based on the hype around the Bareknuckle pickups.. Well I must say in all honesty, upon initial testing.. The Mule pickups are way better... It's not just my imagination either... My girlfreind who knows nothing about guitars and has to listen to me playing all the time noticed it immediately... These pickups are much clearer and full of tone.. I'm not sure what to do with it all... They are much more articulate than the super 70's and blow the Super 80's I have in my artist right out of the water.. Now I haven't driven them to capacity yet.. That test will happen tonight when I play with the guys.. But I cant wait!!! Wow!! What a difference!! I was very skeptical at first especially due to the price... But I can say with almost certainty that these pickups are woth every penny!
