I have just read in current Jazz magazine of George Benson signing an endorsment deal with Gibson guitars. The will be officially released at next years Namm show. It is L4 size but incorporates features similiar to other Gibsons including, the "Jimmy Smith pickup system and L5 talpiece. George can be seen playing a prototype of the guitar on the C.D rom component of his latest C.D.
Apparently his Official endorsment with "Ibanez" ended two years ago even though they are still making guitars that bear his name.

Bummer!

Was bound to happen though. Everything changes.

I wonder if/how this will affect the price of the GB series guitars? Any thoughts?

Between GB & John Scofield, I can't think who has had the longest standing artist/endorsement deal with Ibanez. I guess John wins by default.

Does anyone know more details about the "Benson Gibson"??? I've contacted "Gibson" but they're not very forthcoming.
