Maybe Hanbai is the "H" in the acoustic serial numbers from 82-83 that we are looking at.   Gemberbier Username: Gemberbier Registered: 5-2006 Posted on Sunday, July 01, 2007 - 1:49 pm:    I remembered a late 60's strat model 2475 with a metal truss rod cover and wondered when Fuji Gen Gakki had started to manufacture Ibanez guitars, so I googled for the Wikipedia article about Hoshino Gakki and it started with "founded in 1900", and I knew that had to be 1908. Then I missed the whole ARTSTAR range (1987-2003!) looked at the date June 30, 2007 so it was still very fresh. I was looking for info not for a correction job, so I googled on and found this: no myths, just business information. As for Hanbai, they make TAMA DRUMS there, no guitars as far as I can find in the above article. Do you think the "H" is the problem? I was more wondering what the "T" and "D" could be... What pops into my mind is: Hoshino (of course, but then as the party who gave the assignment to build); Heerby (actually a brand not a factory); Terada; Daion. I remember a dreadnaught with a lasered filigrain soundhole in a solid spruce top by a Japanese brand that started with "D". Could be Daion, but I'm not sure. Perhaps I should google a bit for filigrain and guitar. Or I could call master builder Dieter Hopf in Germany, his number is a preset on my phone. I know that this manufacturer made filigrain models for Hopf in the late 70's early 80's. Ginger
