and one of these.
Listen, I'm sorry but I just have to state that IMHO, after reviewing this auction that one would have to be a major league ahole to purchase this, And normally, I apologize when I know I've said something that's bound to offend someone but this time I will not. I don't care if you're Donald Trump and you can afford 15 of these. It's just inconceivable to me. What must one think? You buy this toilet with strings and then you magically possess Eddie's skills on the guitar? Ummmmmmmmm I dunno. It's a toilet with strings, that's what I know.

With regard to the LPs, that's not as bad as it sounds.

Remember: you're getting *2* guitars for the price.

Would you even dare to play them?

Wow, 2 $50,000.00 LPs! Maybe Stanley Jordan could play them both at the same time. :-)

True, two for one. Not bad! (GAG!!!)
I'm firmly convinced that the only reason to buy a Les Paul from the Custom Shop nowadays is the snob appeal. I bought a $3500 Les Paul not too long ago from the Custom Shop, I had to dress the frets before I could even set it up. In fact, it seems thay all need fret dresses! One of my customers has a term for it, he calls it Gibsonitis. It's a good sounding guitar, and now it plays awesome of course (a little self plug there!), but there's a point where you're not paying for the guitar anymore, and that's when it becomes snob appeal. Caddillac is getting there too, and they don't even try to hide it. I guess they've figured out they can get away with anything now.

Yup, when you can't play, you'll plunk down 50 grand on a guitar, and never know that you bought a slapped together hunk of crap, and Gibson will laugh all the way to the bank. Ubetcha, are those lyrics to a song?

The only reason that guitar would be worth the coin was if it came with the fingers that made them famous. Honestly. Like eddies guitar...it comes down to skill to make the guitars sound good. You could play a real 59' Les Paul and sound crap compared to some guy playing a 07' Caraya. You would expect to maybe pay that for an original 59...not a re issues. I guess Gibson are saying that they have no significant innovation since 59?
