Turn 'em down a little, they sound like a bee hive. The louder the volume, exponentially more wattage is required to achieve it. So each doubling of wattage produces approximately 10% more decibals. There are other factors, such as bass frequencies require more energy to push, so a bassy 5 watt amp would seem quieter than a 5 watt amp with frwquencies focused in the midrange, but in general, double the watts, 10% increase in volume. I'm talking tube amps here.
