Untunable ibanez...

No matter what i do to try and tune it, the octave (12th) fret on the high pitch e-string is a half step flat...any comments or suggestions???? Yes, I've had this happen. I thought I was crazy, but I consulted another repairman who told me he's seen it before. Replaced the string and everything was fine. The older your strings get, the further the intonation goes out (and in my experience the high E is the worst offender). Put a new set of strings on and see how it goes.
