The Air Zone is a massively overwound 17.49K pickup designed for the bridge position. But DiMarzio also says it can be used in the neck position of a solid body guitar to get a hollow body jazz sound. Has anybody tried this? The concept would probably work with with other midrange/bass heavy hot pickups as well, you'd just have to watch the gain on your amp.
