Ok I bought another guitar, not for me but for my 12 year old son. It is his first guitar. We went looking and tried many, MANY guitars and guess what he decided on. Yep, an Ibanez. I was thrilled for lots of reasons. We will post pics of the new one very soon.

I'm sorry , no secret . He picked out the Talman
TCY20 acoustic/electric. It has the small body so he can reach compfortably around and a nice small neck. Out of all the makes in this price range a nice player as well as looker with the abalone sound hole inlay . fully bound. nice starter guitar. the color is a black to red burst
called transparent red. good guitar for a 13 year old boy just starting out. My first guitar came from sears, no joke.

Let me guess, Bob...black and white Sears Silvertone/Danelectro? Even they are collectible these days...especially if you still have the 'upgrade' Hardshell Case/Amp.

These days, kids can get really nice starter guitars compared to what we had to choose from back in the 60's.

Congratulations to your son...for having a supportive father.

Hell yeah, Tim!

I remember when half the neighborhood got that setup for Christmas! Man... we joked them SO hard... especially about that BS 'case-amp'.

If I'd known then what I know now... aw screw it... sentimentality be damned... they sucked then & they still suck!

Bob... again, I agree with Tim completely... Congratulations to your son...for having a supportive father. VERY COOL!
