Hi guys,

does anybody made a comparison between ibanez AM205 and Gibson Little Lucille?

I believe that the way how they are made is different but I would appreciate any feedback from those who had the opportunity to play them both.

Thanks to all.

The Little Lucille is a totally different guitar: basically it's a Blueshawk (a Nighthawk with f-holes), one cutaway, Blues 90 pickups, but with a varitone switch and a TP-6. With its 18 presets, it's more versatile than the AM205, which has only 3 presets (just the pickup selector).

The singer/guitarist of the Blues Connection (Germany) plays one.

The Little Lucille has no f-holes as also the bigger Lucille.
I never heard the Little Lucille but it sure is very small.

Tris, you're right (my bad). I was mixing things up:
Little Lucille and Epiphone Les Paul Elite (NOT Elitist).

I've always been interested in smaller versions of the ES-335 and ES-335S with and without varitone.
What's a pity, is that they are all so short-lived. But this hybrid stuff ES-3xx/Les Paul and ES-3xx/Nighthawk is really interesting.

I just googled for the Blues Connection, but it has become a totally different band. Earl Hop is not mentioned any more, they have female singers. I don't recognize them at all. But I found Earl has a new band and he still plays his Roadster Bass:
http://www.schaffarm.ch/html/steven_bailey.html

He plays everything with his index finger and has a callus on it of 7 mm or so. He was happy as a child when he played my white Roadstar II RB630 (which is much lighter than his Roadster), and kissed it on stage.
I wonder if he's still wearing bowling shoes. Man, what a guy!

But in those days they were a 3 man band. Their lead singer had this Little Lucille in '99 or so.

I have a little lucille.

It is a very nice guitar but it is not a "smaller 335". The way how it is crafted is different from 335 models(i.e. body carved with the top glued). Probably, it is similar to the AM400.
Woods are poplar for the back and mapple for the top. PU are Blues '90 (similar to P90).

The sound is nice (very good for pop & funk). However, AM-205 should better fit "jazzy atmospheres" than little lucille.
