Having wondered what happened to CSL (Charles Summerfield Ltd), importers of Ibanez guitars in the 70s and early 80s I a bit of surfing this morning..

Maurice, who is a well-known Jazz aficionado is mentioned lots for his books ‘The Jazz Guitar’ and ‘the classical Guitar’

His publishing company, Ashley Mark – named after his children (Probably in their 30s by now) is still active and trading from Gateshead. Check out http://www.ashleymark.co.uk/

On a sadder note – Cyril Jeavons – the owner of the music store in Newcastle who had close links with CSL passed away in 2002 (aged 92)
