Anyone see this site?

Ibanez Guitar Players

Seems a little slim on content and little heavy on ads. Just an FYI...

Anybody read the Guitar page introduction and then ICW's homepage? What do you think? Should I be flattered or annoyed?

JohnS:

Aha, so that were YOU got your introduction page from!

Seriously, if you did not know you were shamelessly copied there you have my permission to be annoyed.

To All:

I rummaged around the site for awhile last night and then had a friend investigate the "source" of the rest of this site's pages.

All of the "content" on the review pages are lifted from sites like Musician's Friend and other commercial sites. There's nothing original here. In fact, in the case of the guitar intro page, it's blatant plagerism...quite easy to do on the Internet.

People who are trying to make money on the net through creative use of affiliate programs and "click-thru" programs still need to know that you can't just hijack another person's creative work.

The site is owned by one Yury Pheshenko in Stravropol, Russia. I'm going to email him and see if/how he responds. In the meantime, I'd be leery of clicking thru on any of the commercial links.

I'm not even going to the site. Sounds like a Russian 'phish pond'!

Thanks for the heads-up.

No cold war, just avoiding fraud, spammers, scammers and identity theft from...Russians, Nigereans, Indonesians or the 14 year old geeky kid named Todd who lives around the corner.

I was hoping we were as it's a Russian site. Hollywood don't make those east v west, CIA/KGB/MI5, double agent, Berlin wall, spy movies anymore and I kind of miss the suspense of living in fear of MAD! Oh well.

Did you get a response from the email John. Did you remember to send it in code?
