i took a trip to lisbon one month ago... lovely place indeed. it seems that time stopped there somewhere by the sixties... old stores with old merchandise inside and so on. very interesting.
passing by a small music store i spotted an ibanez artist... i'm not an artist connoisseur but surely it was one of the top models, a 500 or maybe better (it had at least a dozen switches on it ;)). esquisitely finished, with tons of abalone everywhere...
i wondered if the owner did not know what he had and asked for the price - maybe he would sell it for a few hundred euros - but... he knew exactly about this AR. price asked, 1500 euros (1800 usd)!!!

Sounds a bit like my trip to the Hauge in Holland a few years back where I bought a beat up brownburst 2617. Took a few years to restore it (before I had ebay).

Visited Lisbon in 1991 but only remember that big memorial on the quay side.
