I love Gambale's hollowbody tone, and I was very surprised because his staccato picking sounds very similer to Benson (ofcourse they don't use the same techniques and the sweeps give a different sound) but I do find some similarities. Anyways, Frank Gambale is one of my favorite guitarists no matter what guitar or tone he plays in. My favorite album of his is Coming To Your Senses, which is excellent by every tune. and Steve Smith's also a treat..   Petruz Username: Petruz Registered: 5-2004 Posted on Monday, April 16, 2007 - 4:01 am:    talajuha, the AES1500 is a semihollow with central block, but not a thinline, it's slightly deeper. i tried one, very impressive. it's a remarkable guitar and a killer deal for the price (in italy just above €1000 with hsc). i don't know where yamaha produces these guitars (along with the eccellent AEX1500 martin taylor and the SA2200 335 clone), but these are professional level instruments with surprisingly low prices. that was the spirit of ibanez back in the seventies.   Gemberbier Username: Gemberbier Registered: 5-2006 Posted on Monday, April 16, 2007 - 4:08 am:    I missed Frank Gambale's workshop at Conijn Muziek in Eindhoven a few years ago. He was in one shop and Doyle Dykes in the other. I went to see Doyle's Taylor and Elixir workshop, which was very good.
