I'm presently fascinated by this ebayer in China. Not to buy but the kind of stuff they sell.

It's all very 'swanky' as they put it. Check out the rest of their auctions.

I kind of like the flame top hybrid Tele/Les Paul thing they've got going though I reckon it should have "Les Fender Thing" on the peg head.

I like the way they call a strat a traditional Chinese folk instrument :-)

Notice that they never try to represent these guitars as being anything other than fakes.

The stratocaster I S a traditional Chinese folk instrument, much older than India's sitar. Leo Fender's real name was Lee Fen, and he was from Guanzhou, China. He brought the ancient, admirable stratocaster to American shores when his family emigrated to China, and the rest is history!

...he named his first electric guitar after his sweetheart-the Yanks were refering to her as "your broad". When he found out it was not a nice word, he changed it to her real name-"Te Le".

Right, Acetan-- then when he got bored with Te- le, he found another woman. He cast Te-le out of their home. Then reflecting regretfully upon his actions, he realized he was a Te-le Caster. The body curves on his Telecaster are her precise measurements. He begged her to forgive him, but she couldn't go back to him. She was a real piece of ash, Lee Fen would often recall in later years, the best he ever had.

Too bad Lee Fen did not live long enough to see his dream come true-- he wanted to open a guitar factory in his hometown in China, where he longed to settle down and make admirable guitars.

"Too bad Lee Fen did not live long enough to see his dream come true"

Actually, after he died an untimely death at the hands of the sinister Chow Bin Shang (often referred to as CBS), Chinese lore has it that he was resurrected by a Jasmine Master, who he dedicated the fair sounding Jas-Master instrument. His youth and vitality renewed, he went on to have a string of short lived flings including brief affairs with the stunning Miss Tang and the distinct Shag War. After his little mid life crisis, he reunited with his second true love, who's name does not translate well, but purportedly, was also a "Caster" like the Admirable Miss Te Le. She had gained a few pounds, and he would lovingly refer to her as "Fat-Strat" or "Boat-Back"

...not to mention the Southern belle he met in Texas. Of course there's also the one from Acapulco, but as they say, that's another story.
