Ya, I just got something in that video.

He said he cut-out the record label, made his own label, and went straight to distribution on CD. He was getting paid 7.50 USD and sold 400,000 CDs.

Doing the math, that rounds out to $3,000,000 USD (presuming before tax).

Not a bad start for the Flex-able album/CD. From the "Making Music" link on that site.
