The early ones are pretty good. I had a mid 80's Burny TV yellow Les Paul Special (Rockin Roll) that was a great replica even down to the screw spacing on the scratchplate. The Les Paul "Super Real"(sunburst) models are quite nice too. IMHO the Tokais up to 1985 are a far better guitar and probably the best replicas ever made.

I have an older Fernandes Monterey deluxe sustainer and it sounds like a killer LP.

Actually I am interested in these (semi)hollows, links above. Seems they are in the same price range as Artcore Customs (ca.) and Burny is perhaps budget brand of Fernandes (?).

Talajuha, not at all. Burny is Fernandes' "copy" brand, not a budget brand.
There are Burny Gibson copies for all models.
They are very nice, for the Japanese market only.
Just like Greco - they were making "lawsuit" copies in Japan way past the "lawsuit" period, up until '94.
Because of that Burny sells very good in Japan, along with Tokai, the thing is Tokai doesn't make any semi copies today, LPs, strats, sure.

in fact I read somewhere that Burnys are also made in Korea and that if it has a long tenon set-neck (tell by removing the neck pickup) it's a Japanese.
I tend to suspect that both 175 and 335 copies they offer on this site: http://www.fernandes.co.jp/start_up.html
are Korean because of the price.
I might be wrong, you can ask our Japanese forum member..

Burny RFA65's (175 copy) price in a webshop is 699 EUR.
Burny RSA55's (335 copy) private seller asks 400 EUR (used). Both with case.
I think I have seen RSA55 on eBay, too.
I have found references on the net which tell that Burnys have been made in Japan, Korea and China through the years, today probably in China. All Burny prices at fernandes.co.jp tell that Burny is copy and budget brand mainly for Japanese market. There are no Burnys at http://www.fernandesguitars.com .

Ebay Item #180113229707
Maybe these are (those two hollowbodies) but Burny was never about entry level budget guitars but quality copies..

Seems Burny is famous of its LP copies (late '70s).
