Well it's Friday afternoon so I fancy a bit of trolling so here goes:

I think that in 20 years time the good folk on ICW will be reminiscing about the old days saying something like: "these modern Ibanez made in Greenland just don't have the quality of the mid 2000's Chinese product... they just don't make them like they used too... "

PS this is just a bit of friendly fun! if anyone in the UK has a late 80's Musician... they don't make them like that anymore...

OK, I'll bite:

One thing about the MIJ guitars, is even the cheep ones were very well constructed, they just had plainer finishes, woods and hardware.

I have an ARC300, which looks amazing, and even plays and sounds pretty good, but as soon as you look inside, it's a different story. Sloppy routs, gobs of wood filler paste inside the PU cavities, and two of the screws on the control cavity plate miss the wood entirely! Maybe this kind of thing is no big deal, it functions well enough, but I just wonder what other sins happened when they cranked this puppy out.

With the Artcore Customs and Uniteds, yes they will probably be looked upon fondly, but I'm not quite feeling the love, but they area great for what they are: $200-300 beginner guitars.

Hey Acetan, the heat in the UK has addled my brain. I meant late 70's/early 80's!

Next week I'm going for a tour round the shops to see what the new product is really like. I've seen a few quite cheap on ebay but I want to try before I buy.

So it is hot over there also? We've been breaking 100 everyday for a week now.
