I wouldn't use a gun but a plain iron that is made for small joints. Too much heat can ruin components on PC boards.

I use my dad's old black 25 Watt Weller plain iron (actually the point is plated copper), that he gave to me when he bought a new red one.
He's 75 now and still repairing electronics and clocks and watches.
I once bought a brandless red one as a spare at a gas station for 5 euro or 10 guilders but the plastic chapped the first time I tried it.
Don't buy this Chinese junk!
Buy a real Weller (15-25 Watt), use it as long as you live and pass it on to the next generation.

I prefer to use a higher power for swapping out pickups, somewhere between 40 - 60 watts. Main reason is that pots often have plastic components inside, and a lower powered iron takes longer to melt solder - the longer you have to hold the iron on the back of a pot, the more heat transfers inside and you risk melting any plastic parts. For pedals and PCB work a 25 watter with a small tip is perfect.
