A nice see-through-red flame maple Hondo H935 (ES-335 model) on the bay.
The suggestion that it's an Ibanez is a commercial trick.
But it IS a nice guitar...

You sure that's red flame maple?...I had the chance to see a broken hondo made during that period and looked the same on the outide...it was a higher grade plywood sandwich.

Pit, I forgot to place the link before the auction ended. Now it's gone and I don't remember the item number.

But aren't all these ES-335 types laminated?
It's just the beauty of the outer layer I'm talking about. To my knowledge the only factory that uses real solid maple is Heritage. The rest (including Gibson) are all laminated/plywood. They just hide it with a soundhole binding or black paint. Don't expect great acoustics from a thinline.
It is in fact a semi-solid like Les Paul's Log was. Neck and sustain block are connected and the pickups are in the sustain block.

So, what do you need solid carved maple top, back and sides for? All they bring on an electric guitar, is good looks, a high price and feedback problems.
For good looks only, a good finish layer is enough.

I would somewhat agree with that.
