nice guitars but Pansies playing them. That last video I couldn't tell if it was chick singing or a wannabe chick.

Gee Brian the topic was Ibanez in action and you come up with "nice guitars but Pansies playing them". You really need a reality check bud. But then again I guess you're just too "cool". These "Pansies" all have / had major label record deals. What about you my friend ?

This forum is really becoming a joke.

No I'm not too cool Lazz I just don't like screaming men in make up. Having a record deal based on how much money you can make a label doesn't qualify a person as the greatest guitarist. It just shows how feeble minded the record buying teenagers of the world are and always will be. Its all about the money.

You know is narrow minded people like you that cause problems for everyone. Because this is not your "taste" in music means they are "Pansies" ? Sorry friend but I think it's time to grow up. There are different genres of music that I don't really like, but you don't see me on here calling them names because I don't like them. You call yourself a guitar teacher? Is this narrow mined stupidity what you teach your students as well? I really feel sorry for people like you and I'll leave it at that.

Freak,

Check the thread topic and then check yourself. Your opinion on the type of music or the quality of the musicians is in no way related to the topic.

As for the name calling, you might wanna re-read the thread.

And yes, the music business IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. That's why it's called a BUSINESS.

Nice idea for a thread, Laaz. Sorry it went south on you.

I never said the I didn't like the music. I was refering to the last video link when I said pansie. Lazz got offended as if I was insulting him directly and lashed out at me personaly calling me narrow minded and stupid. There is no reason for that. A private email would have been more appropriate.

I'm not the 1st or the last person to go off topic here I think all of us are guilty of that at some time.

Freak! I've never seen Maiden wearing make up. I follwed those guys from their pub playing days and also knew them personally (although not seen them for years). Those guys are yer typical east end of London hardened street boys.

One Friday night in 1979, I watched Dave Murray puke his guts up outside the Green Gate pub in Bethnal Green after a skin full, then walk back in to top up.

Definately NOT panzies mate.

Six, I'm going way back, but I saw Maiden open for Judas Priest at the Tower Theater in Philly. That was one helluva show. I couldn't hear for a month after.

Laaz, Good stuff. Brings back some memories that I'm surprised I still have.

Six I was reffering to the last video not Maiden or def Leppard. The guy had a voice like a chick and looked like one too. If I had said they were all great nobody would be upset about it being off topic. I guess having an opinion that everyone doesn't agree with qualifies me for a stoning!

I still stand by what I said.

Maiden opened for Priest two years in a row. 1981 with Dianno on the Killers tour, and again in 1982 on the Beast tour. Jeff I went to both shows. Thats where I got my first glimpse of the Destroyer II's.

Yeah I saw them with Priest at Hammy Odeon on the Killers tour. They totally rocked the place! Great band that they are, Priest were hard pushed to make the night theirs. They even played a couple of their numbers backwards in an attempt to ward off the Maiden onslaught.

Don't like headbanging music anymore now that I am a grumpy old SOB. BUT I DO like George Benson and there are zillion clips of him. I think I changed my mind about 5 times before I settled on this one. GB playing a on fire RED Ibanez GB200 doing Weekend In L.A....

Play on George !!

I've said this before. George is proabably the most underrated guitar player on the planet. Couple that with his amazing voice and his chart success, a lot of people pass him off as a pop artist and are totally amazed that he can actually make the guitar talk.

Can anyone name another virtuoso guitar player that plays and sings as well as George? They're ain't many.

That Maiden footage is classic!I caught gigs on that and the Killers tour also. The Killers show being the most impressive. They hit the States like a firestorm. One of the heaviest things I'd seen at the time.
And seing Riot posted was a suprise.I don't really dig Marks version as much as the Guy/Rhett years but it's nice to see them remembered in any form.

Cool, that Restless show is a good one.And there's more of it out there but I haven't seen it in a long time. The Loved by You vid is killer if you can find it.I never saw them after Reale came back as a metal band but I still have shirts from Fire through Born tours.Great Marshall driven R&R.

Hey Guys! A friend of mine just gave me this. It was taken at the Capital Theater in NJ in 1979. He got the camera in by glueing the eye pieces from binoculars to the back of his camera. I have others I'll post later. Great shots!

Capitol Theater....what memories, or what's left of them. John Sher's place. Saw tons of shows there in the 70's. It's gone, like so many other great venues. Check out the shows:

Speaking of which...I was in an office today in what was part of the old Capitol Theater in Portchester, NY. Another venue with great shows.
