Other than this crap it misses the super70's and the trussrodcover. So no other big issues. Ebony fretboard, the first I've encountered on LP copies, immaculate frets, hardware and body. Barely, if ever, played. Just butchered. I am sure it will be fine but again: why????? Lespaul Username: Lespaul Registered: 10-2004 Posted on Saturday, February 03, 2007 - 8:13 pm:    Drilled out the broken screws (some can be seen in the background) and flattened the risen edges around the holes that didn't need to be drilled out with a sharp blade. Filled the holes with maple sawdust mixed with wood glue, let it dry and sanded everything smooth. Next step is airbrushing the repairs in high gloss black and after that coat the whole headstock front and 1 side with transparant laquer. Let it dry for about a week and buff it out thoroughly. Coatings will be applied tomorrow and then it has to rest for, at least, a week. To be continued. I had it all finished but did not give it enough time to set. The filling of the holes shrunk a little after I put on the black and clear coats so I had to redo it. It is fine now. Now I need to find me a truss rod cover and some super70's with gold polepieces. I have the original gold covers and the pickguard. Anybody can help me out? I did cut some pickguards for my Custom Agents and they worked out pretty well. I used a Dremel tool for rough routing, followed by a lot of sanding. It takes some elbow grease and patience but it is worth the effort IMO. Now if I only had access to a laser cutter..... My son has a black Les Paul copy with a bolt on neck but it has some finish chips. I have thought about using black nail polish on it and drop filling the holes/chips. Your refinishing looks flawless though and I don't know that the nail polish will be as good or as tough. That's a project for another day. What is the big deal with shipping internationally, especially for small items? All it would take is for the seller to fill out an extra customs form for the destination country and for the buyer to pay extra for the extra shipping distance. How hard is that? I'll get some pics of my LP's together and of the whole flock up... hopefully today. Going to see if I can get enough brightness in the living room to get a good group shot. I took a few of some individual guitars outside last week but haven't gotten them on the computer here yet. Some of those turned out good, others washed out and were too bright. I'll post the good ones from both shoots in the group photos post (or at least a link to a page of pictures). Getting original parts and the amount of money involved are the only things to hold a good luthier back IMNSHO. Judging by the pics your Scruggs seems a very restorable guitar to me. I am sure it wil be fine sometime. JohnS: I did a first try on a TRC today. This as a 15 minute job but not nearly good enough. I have to come up with something else to cut the beveled edges nice and tight. Oh well....
