Posters here are an interesting bunch, no doubt.

I am curious what music you guys listen to...so tell me...What is in YOUR CD player?

I'll start with my short list:

Wes Montgomery's "Smokin At The Half Note"
Joe Satriani's "Satriani"
Norman Brown's "Just Chillin"
Victor Wooten's "Soul Circus"
Lee Ritenour's "Smoke and Mirrors"
George Benson & Al Jareau's latest collaboration

OK...Your turn!

i'm listening to jonathan kreisberg right now. he's an AWESOME player with tons of taste and knowledge. after rosenwinkel and adams he's been the nicest jazz guitarist to come out in years.

Funny you should ask... For some reason I've got "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" in there... I'm on some sort of a Gram Parsons kick.. I don't know why.. But I saw it in the store and was drawn to it.. Weird.. Anyways.. I'm not really a country fan.. (well at least not modern stuff) But wow! Very cool! Now me and my friends are starting to cover some of the tunes! I like it!

Nice to see two underestimated bands mentioned here: CCR and ZZ Top. I have had CCR CDs for years and found ZZ Top again recently.

BTW, one of my recent purchases was "Progressions: 100 Years of Jazz Guitar", Sony BMG 2005, legacyrecordings.com, thejazzguitarbox.com. 4CD collection of 78 guitar players.

lately I hear only one thing.
I bought Johnny Smith - The complete roost small group sessions.
This is the most incredible pack I've ever heard. you get to hear some rare Smith sessions like "Tickle Toe" "Lullaby of birdland" "Satin Doll" "Like someone in love", undoubtly the best jazz guitar I've ever heard.
but 'till then I had Tal Farlow's Tal, Wes Montgomery's Full House, Lee Ritenour's Alive in LA, John Scofield's Quiet..
an album called Full Circle by Jimmy Bruno and Howard Alden, Frank Gambale's Thinking out loud. I was hearing those for AGES..
I also recently got my hands on Brent Mason's Hot Wired which is an incredible album.. what a great player he is.
I also loved Barney Kessel's Modern jazz performances from Bizet's Carmen.

Freak,
I have it (came all in the same package) but haven't listened to the DVD-A yet. I have a DVD-A player, but, so far, haven't had time to listen to it anywhere other than in the car or work van. I'll make a point of it. I LOVE DVD-A!
