Hi all!
I would love to get a few copies or maybe some good coulor-scans of the article/special on Ibanez that was in Guitar Player in the issue of december. Over here in Holland this magazine is hard to get. John Muijen, do you happen to have that issue, or Musash? Please help me out.

Harry,

I don't have a copy for you. You should try and find out who is the 'publisher' of this magazine in Holland. Call your local bookstore and ask.

Unsold copies of foreign magazines are returend by the stores to the publisher. So if you are quick you should be able to get a copy.

Good luck.

John

The article is on ibanez copy guitars written
by michael wright. its the dec 2001 issue that
has vince gill on the cover. vintage guitar has
a site and back issues as well as subscriptions
can be purchased online. about half of the guitars
are from my collection. the ones i own can be
detected by the use of hamilton stands which
have a yoke that holds the neck just below the
headstock. michael had my photos from the
preparation of the ibanez book to be released
later this year. it's too bad that the printing
contrast of the artwood eagle was so dark that
you cant see the patterns, but the remainder of
the photos came out pretty good.

Great to hear some background on the Vintage Guitar article and that your collection is featured...as well as it's inclusion in the upcoming Ibanez book. I've been patiently waiting for word on Michael's progress.

Anybody else have their guitars included in the upcoming book?

Back to the subject at hand: However, Harry mentioned "Guitar Player" magazine.

Harry: did you mean to say "Vintage Guitar" magazine or was there another article in the Dec. 2001 "Guitar Player" magazine?

from what michael has told me, ibanez(hoshino)
had plenty of original material in their archives
to complete all the copy for the 70's on up.
they also had a few catalogs dating back into the
50's when they started making electrics. i offered
my collection of 70's and 80's, but they were
only interested in the 60's stuff. from what i
can gather from a conversation with jd, all the
material is pretty well gathered up, they just
have to put it together and finalize it. since
this year is one of the anniversary years, they
are committed to getting it ready to release.
ibanez will release the book on their own, rather
than using one of the music book publishers like
hal leonard. and, you will be glad to know that
this plan will produce a book that will be
reasonably priced so everyone can afford it.
