I was directed to this fabulous site for Ibanez Collectors yesterday, and it's been a fine trip. I am wondering if there are any Bluegrassers out there who are looking for and/or sharing any info. on the Ibanez lineup of acoustic mandolins from the early to mid-70's, particularly for the 524 & 527 F Style models that are similar to the Gibson F-5 mandolins? I currently own 3 Florentine styles made by Ibanez, plus some other models that can be seen on JD's great website, some of which don't have any serial numbers, but do have a lower case 'i' embossed into the metal tailpiece covers. Also, does anyone out there have any mandolins for sale that have either the Ibanez and/or Blue Bird logo(another Hosino brand name that was not made for export from Japan)? Some of the Ibanez F-Styles were exported without any logos at all on the headstocks, but are unmistakeably Hoshino-made. While I'm at my first efforts to post a message on this newly-found site, I thought I would ask if there are any Ibanez collectors of mandolins out there who would be willing to share any photos of their mandolins or have any digital-scans of the Ibanez acoustic mandolin brochures from the 70's? I will borrow a digital camera and attempt to photograph my existing Ibanez mandolin collection for any trading requests that may come in as a result of this posting. That's it for now, as I'm already late for work. Keep On Pickin' , Terry Calvert, Barrie, Ontario, Canada

Terry, contact me off line at camb62@bigpond.com
& Iwill send you a scan of the 76/77 mandolin catalouge that I have here, as far as I know, these mando's & banjos were the only time that they were listed in the official catalouges from Ibanez but I'm sure that JD may have other scans. Let me know.
Keep on pickin'
