Hey all!

Since I'm gonna sell my Artist 2663TC (Iceman) with triple coil pickup, I figured I'd re-install the pickup. I still have the original switch and the triple coil pickup, of course, but no idea of how Ibanez had these three coils wired up originally. (geez - you'd think I'd know this, huh?)

Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram for the triple-coil Iceman?

Thanks!
Mark

Here's what I'm working with:

4-position selector switch

1) The original 4-position switch. Has 5 different capacitors on it and I see only one spot (for certain) where a wire was soldered to it. Look at photo - you can see the remaining piece of orange wire between the legs of the capacitor on one side of the switch. This orange wire was cut clean, and still soldered in place. Appears original...the other solder joints are not remarkably disturbed (but what do I look for to know for sure?) so I'm not sure how many wires were run from the pickup to the switch (out of six possible).

Back of triple coil pickup

2) Each coil has red and black wires exiting pickup, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure this one out, I just don't have experience wiring pickups up (other than replacing a few humbuckers in the past) and don't know what particular 4 ways Ibanez had them operating...

If anyone can help - thanks in advance.

Hi Mark,

Sorry I can't help you out here. Have you searched JD's wiring diagrams? If I were you I'd shoot an email to him directly. If anyone can help it will probably be him.

Am I correct in assuming the triple coil has been out of action the whole time you have owned the guitar? If so it is a great shame you never really got to use it.

So Mark, we've clearly been unable to change your mind on selling these beauties. I hope you find a good home for them with another collector who will understand the responsibility you are passing on.

Cheers,

Mark
