Don't know if this has been done before but they can't all be beautiful can they?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so whats your poison?

Okay, I make the rules on this one and you can only have one of each. No cheating and no endless lists of favourites allowed!

Here's mine:

Tasty - 2676 Artist (ohh yummy!)
Ugliest - Roadstar Pro 540P (yuk!)

Tasty - that bird of paradise Artist (although verging on gross).

Ugly - Iceman (apologies to our European metal-heads and other fans)

TASTY - - Just love the jems, especially with that extremely useful integral carrying handle, saves buying a case, at the same time as allowing you to show off the fetching colour schemes, like shocking pink with lime green inlays. [wrap around shades and thigh length leather boots optional].

UGLY - - any artistically designed curvacious artists/archtops from the seventies, finished in natural wood, especially blonde ash or A.V. [can't think who'd want want to own something like that]?

First off, I can see this has the potential to turn into a royal flamefest. So, let me amend the "rules" with the following: "play nice and don't call each other names". I will pull the plug on any messages that make personal attacks or lapse into foul language.

Second, I'm having a real tough time with this question. I'll qualify my votes by saying I'll stick to original design, production models that appeared in catalogs.

I'm not sure which model I consider the "ugliest", but I know it's somewhere on Hasy's site, under the 1962-1968 heading: http://www.ibanez-vintage-page.com/ I'll call it the 1964, model 3904.
1964 model 3904

I doubt that I've seen the tastiest, yet. I know that my vote will change as soon as I hit the Send button, but at this point in time, I'll say the '82 AR5000 Limited Edition.
81-AR5000
IMO, the only thing I can think of that might improve this guitar would be to have made it in 1978 with the smooth heel and thinner body.

I'd have to vote for Six's sunburst Artwood twin, closely followed by the 2672 featured on this site, closely followed by a huge number of guitars made thought the '80s. Ibanez made so many beauties, it's hard to pick one.

For ugly, I've seen shots of some old, old Ibanezes that were horrid. If I had to actually Name one, I'd say anything pointy enough to be used as a weapon. Call me old fashioned, but those sharp-edged RGs and RBMs and EXs and stuff might all be good guitars, but doubt if I'd ever buy one.
