Here's one that just made me laugh.

The seller is definitely an optimist in his description: "This is a fixer upper...If you can fix guitars you can make this a nice one...This has some scratches on the front and its missing the back. The top and neck are in good condition.. See pics below.. This is being SOLD AS IS...."

If I could fix guitars well enough to fix that one, I'd be good enough to just build a new one from scratch.

Maybe I'm wrong , but replacing the back would be less hassle than reattaching the neck to the neck block.

Tim:
That's what they must mean when they say a guitar has an "open" sound. It's the same principle as an open backed speaker cabinet, no? :)

Yes John...I must try it sometime! (not)
Seriously though, I've fixed some disastrous guitars, from snapped off headstocks & necks to completely stripped off fretboards, but they never go back quite right....and when it's THAT serious you have to draw the line as to if it's worth the time & effort.

Ebay again....

Check this :http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33043&item=936781570

Now I realize there are WHO fans out there but come on. Another clean looking PF300 is available for a realistic price that des not have all the issues of this guitar.

That'd put me in the "Fossil" catagory...

Well, this can't be good. I was already in the fossil category. I'm gonna be 52 in February.
But I don't own a rocker...I AM a Rocker!!!
There's a 50's Strat body on Ebay that someone drilled all kinds of big holes in it PLUS a bunch of other outrageous acts upon a once fine instrument. It's kind of a sickening sight.

Maybe we should be a bit more circumspect about posting threads like this. eBay might find out about all the free entertainment their auctions provide and charge us for looking at them. :-)
