I'm looking to buy an amp. I'd like something with built in effects, mostly heavy, Metallica type distortion, and good clean tone as well. I won't be out performing or anything, so a stage amp would be too much.

Basicly, something like a Roland Cube 30, which is at the top of my list right now, unless anyone can suggest something better in the same price range.

If I read you right, you're looking for a 2-channel, 30watt combo, with effects, in the $200-250 range?
Hmm... That Roland might be your best bet. The only suggestion I have, would be a Crate GLX30:

Food for thought: You can get a POD now for $250.

Cheers
Steve
