I'll be in New Orleans tomorrow. Staying at the Sheraton on Canal St.

Anybody been there? Can you suggest hots spot for Blues and cool Jazz?

BTW, I don't want to end up on COPS or WildGirlsPullUpTheirTops.com.

John,

I do not know of any Hot Spots for good music but there are some names you should look for:
"Snooks Ziglin" jazz/blues/R&B guitarist who cooks, guitar and vocals.

"Mem Shannon" Soulful/Funky Jazz/Blues with that Southern NL flavor, guitar and vocals!

"Tony Green" plays some very good "Gypsy Jazz"

"Walter 'Wolfman' Washington" gets Funky with his Soulful Blues/R&B guitar and vocals.

My good buddy guitarist & vocalist "Chip Wilson" will most likely be giging somewhere abouts the French Quarters area.

You may want to check out the "New Orleans Music Exchange" music store.

John,

I stayed at the Sheraton in 98' and you can walk to the French quarter to pick and choose many different acts at different bars while scantily clad women are hawkin the men walking by.
They seem to compete for all the tourist business by standing at the doorway to lure in the horny slightly intoxicated single guys (they don't hesitate if you are with your better half either)
I had a conversion van with me on that trip and because of low clearance issues at the parking garage of the Sheraton, parking was an issue but with any car it's no problem.
BTW,the Sheraton is a really nice place and check out the market down by the water for some cool bargains.
Have a good enjoy ! oooweee !
