OK, as a Newbie to this site, and alwys one to spur good conversation, I was wondering.....What made you want to have anything to do with guitars in the first place??? I remember buggung the crap out of my Mom for one when I was 7. She finally gave in and I got one on my 8th Birthday.
Been playing ever since (coming up on 30 years!)
Anyway what was it that got you all inspired or keeps you plying?
Who is your favorite player, etc.....

Probably from playing my dad's copy of Duane Eddy's 20 Greatest Hits, on the Jamie label, over and over again when I was little. One of my cousins made my brother and me a toy guitar out of some wood scrap, and a pretend amp out of a Kleenex box at some point. But I didn't actually start playing until i was 17, so it took a while to sink in. :-)

It was Van Halen Women & Children First that got me started down the path to Rock-Stardom.
Then when Malmsteen came out with 1st Rising Force album I knew I had to play like that....been doing it ever since.
I'm also a big fan of Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai & Andy Timmons.

My entire inspiration to pick up a guitar was in early 1970 when I heard a Jimi Hendrix song for the first time. The raw, screaming tone just blew me away. I had just turned 8. From that point on, I've been addicted to guitar playing. I've also become a Hendrix collector (vinyl, CD, posters, etc.) I've had other inspirations since then and enjoy a wide range of music, but I cannot deny that moment in time that started it all.

My inspriation can be traced from one song and one song only...Duane Allmanns rendition of Statesboro Blues..Picked up an old Kay and a Coricidian bottle and have never looked back !
