Hi - I have a Westy Standard - the body is mahogany, and apparently the neck is 5-piece construction under the paint.

Pickups (if original) are DiMarzio - a Super Distortion in the bridge pos & PAF at the neck. Tuners on mine are nylon-bodied Gotohs & the rest of the hardware is generic but good quality.

A couple of years ago, somebody tried to relaunch the Westbury brand, and the accompanying website had some good vintage info & pics, plus a forum, which had a few interesting posts from owners past & present. Sadly this appears to have failed & the site's gone now - but there's still info out there if you dig a bit. Vintaxe.com has some old catalogues, but it's a subscription site.

Generally the old Westies are starting to become quite collectable, so I'd recommend keeping it stock, & if you do mod it, don't do anything you can't change back!

Jon.

Antissime:

Do a Google search and you'll find some sites with Westbury info. Here's one: http://www.univox.org/guitars/gtrlist.html

I have a Custom like this one: http://www.therathole.org/guitar/gone/images/westb ury/westbury_pics.html
only solid (no burst).
