My brother is sending me an archtop electric he found in my parents' attick. He describes it as having a Les Paul shape, but hollow-body with F holes, two pickups, and the brand name "Howard" on the headstock. It's not a Howard Roberts Gibson. I've seen very little reference to Howard guitars online. I gather they are MIJ, '70's vintage, possibly related to Harmonies. Anyone with more information? Thanks!

This one is very difficult to google, because there are so many sites on the web that combine the words "Howard (Roberts) and "guitar(s)" on the web.

I added the word "brand" and found this:

Not much, I'm afraid...

From: https://store.bluebookinc.com/download/Category.as px?product=ACOUSTIC&id=327

"The construction technique and overall appearance indicate the possibility that Epaminondas "Epi" Stathopoulos´ Epiphone company built instruments under the Howard trademark for a dealer or distributor. Models that have appeared in the vintage guitar market have the Howard brand name and fleur-de-lis inlaid on the headstock. The dealer or distributor involved in the Howard trademark has yet to be identified (source: Paul Bechtoldt, Vintage Guitar Magazine, February 1996)."

Guitar isn't here yet, but when I get it, I'll post pictures.

Just to follow up, the guitar arrived yesterday. It's definitely some sort of rebranded Teisco, judging by the headstock and the way the electronics are positioned. So it's not an Epiphone. Anyway, here are a few pictures of it:
