Author Message   Ianc Username: Ianc Registered: 5-2007 Posted on Saturday, May 12, 2007 - 5:36 am:    I have come across an Antoria Sessionaire guitar, looks and feels just like an RG. The Ibanez name does not appear anywhere on it or any indication where it was made, no number of the back plate at all. It has the pointy headstock and 24 fret neck that feels like a wizard. It has a 5mm wood veneer on top. The trem says Licencesed under Floyd Rose patent. It has a Bridge humbucker and a single coil in the neck, there way selector one volume; one tone and one switch that when flicked puts tone and volume full on. Is this a 70s or later guitar that has been made by Ibanez and sold by a third party? Any help or advise would be appreciated. They didn't. Hoshino is a trading company and Ibanez is their brand. Several companies made guitars for them. The manufacturer that made their guitars famous in the seventies and the first half of the the eighties was Fuji Gen Gakki in Japan, but before that other manufacturers were involved, and from 1987 until now the number of involved manufacturers has mainly expanded (some were kicked out). Antoria was manufactured by Fuji Gen Gakki for a while in the seventies. The guitar in the picture is NOT a 70's guitar. It's late 80's early 90's and has some resemblance with Aria Pro II and Vantage. The 3-screw humbucker looks a lot like the one on the Aria Pro II SL. And the SPOON CUT CUTAWAYS are a more or less trade mark of VANTAGE, when it was under the flag of SAMICK (not the Matsumoku era). So I think this guitar is made by Samick in Korea in I guess 1992-1995. Now the serial numbers of Samick had always the same system as they had for Hoshino. Does it serial number start with S2, S3, S4 or S5? Is there a sticker somewhere with made in Korea? (Could have been removed). I was given the guitar and told it was old so I assumed it was an early Ibanez because of the headstock shape. Thanks for your help. Ian
