Any quick ideas on this? I know that Global was a brand used by Hoshino, but it definitely won't carry the weight of an Ibanez for resale. It's a nice looking guitar. The guy wants just $150 for it, but it's like 40 miles away from me. Thoughts?

'70's strato copy, not low budget category(?), original parts(?), decent condition ...
I'd pay $150 (~110 EUR) any day, at least after checking it live. Actually looking for one

Chucke99:

I'm interested in this statement: "I know that Global was a brand used by Hoshino".

I've never heard of the Global brand, let alone any connection with Hoshino. Can you share what you've heard/read about this?

Thanks.

Hmmm. I created a list of Hoshino "brands" from some posts on ICW, just so I could keep things straight in my mind. I think Global was mentioned as one. Maybe I'm not describing it correctly. They may not be a Hoshino "brand" but made in the same factory? Sorry for the confusion. I'll see if I can dig up the posting I went by. I know someone posted a rather comprehensive listing, but others chimed in on other brands.

It was from a post by a member named "Fox" back in 2004. The thread is named "Other Brands By Ibanez". Here's the text:

Oh, and BTW, I contacted the guy about coming down on Saturday to see the guitar and he had just sold it.
