I was looking at my af105f, and i was looking at the tuners. I notices that there were no markings at all on them. so i pulled out my martin, and of course they have martin on them. I then pulled out my ibanez bass, and no markings at all, nothing. I then look at my jay turser acoustic, the one that is actually better built and better sounding than the martin, and these are the exact tuners that are on my af105. Now both the af105 and the turser were made in china, si i get to thinking just what tuners are being used on these new guitars and if there is any connection at least with some of the parts???? any input????

Not sure about the 105, but my AF75 had Chinese made Gotoh copies. I'm only assuming they were Chinese made, but they are definitely not Gotoh manufactured (as were used by Ibanez since the '70s). If you look at the exact same model tuners by Gotoh, the small mounting screws are not in the same place.

IMHO, the Chinese tuners are decent but not great. I replaced mine with Gotohs and am living with the fact that I have 6 new, small holes in the rear of the headstock. Gotoh tuners are superior to the Chinese ones, and are what should have been on the guitar in the first place.

That said, even Gotoh manufactured tuners do not have to say Gotoh. They make tuners for many companies, often with that companies' name on them, and sometimes with no brand name at all (probably cheaper for the company to buy as OEM parts).
