JAZZZZ   Guitarwhisperer Username: Guitarwhisperer Registered: 6-2007 Posted on Saturday, September 08, 2007 - 8:54 am:    If you have four wires and you don't know what they are, pick a wire and test it for continuity with the other three one at a time. If the coil's not broken, it'll match up with one of the other three wires. The two remaining wires will be the other coil. Then all you have to do is experiment connecting the wires in a series configuration untill you find the right combination that is the quietest. Two wires will be connected as the series link, connecting the two coils, one will be hot, the other ground. there should be a separate ground wire. Solder it to ground separately and leave it grounded. If the pickup is out of phase with the other pickup, reverse the hot and ground pickup leads. Leave the bare wire grounded. It grounds the pickup chassis and pickup cover if it has one. I don't think you have a super 58 from the description of the pickup, so the ibanez color code might not work. have your friend who's doing the wiring read this, he should be able to figure out what I'm describing, as long as he has a multimeter that will test continuity. (They all will, but some have a specific continuity setting.) If his meter won't test continuity, set it to measure dc resistance in the range that will detect about 8KOHM.   Jazzzbo Username: Jazzzbo Registered: 9-2005 Posted on Saturday, September 08, 2007 - 4:34 pm:    thanks for the above info, like ive said this person that sold the pick up claims it came from an IBANEZ JET KING, and on the bottome side of the pick is SP 58 F, but these colors are different from all the other Super 58s ive seen or heard about, also this pick up is wax potted, he has a few on ebay rite now for sale, thanks, jazzzz
