I think i removed strat style knobs w/ p.sticks- pretty close??You might wana put a thin cloth under the witch hat as far as you can so you dont scratch the guitar.Maybe s/one else has some ideas??? Just kidding I've tried hair driers and WD40 amongst other things. Just take an old T shirt and -using the edge (waist where the cloth folded over and sewn) and wrap it around the base of the knob. The curve on the back side of the spoon is nice and smooth and usually won't mar the finish as you pry each side up with gentle and even pressure. However, it might not be bad to use some styro wrap under the spoons. If push-on knobs get loose, take a small flat blade screwdriver (a butter knife works too) and gently, GENTLY open the split in the shaft. GENTLY !! Over do it and you'll fatigue the metal. I tap the screwdriver gently (there's that word, again) with a small mallet or the handle of another screwdriver. It takes some time to get the feel for it. Obviously this does NOT apply to solid shaft pots with set-screw knobs. For those slightly more stubborn jobs y'know...
