As a composer, naturally. But I've also always seen him as a great "rhythm" guitar player. If Zappa, Gilmour and Roth are my lead inspirations, Townshend has to be my inspiration for chords.

There are many Who albums that ably demonstrate Pete's prowess with power chords and his uncanny knack for playing solid rhythm and lead lines together. None better than the remastered and augmented Who's Next. Buy it friends, the long version of Won't Get Fooled Again alone is worth the expense. Crank up the hi-fi and press play.
