A friend of mine recently came across a 1980 Ibanez Blazer. I'm redoing the whole guitar and have been compiling as much info as I can on it. Unfortunatly I can not find a guitar like it. The SN # indicates its a 1980. It has a Humbucker(bridge) and 2-singles. The PU's are of the hotrails design with the Humbucker printed with Bill Lawrence. 1-volume, 1-tone, and a phase togle. The neck is all maple and it has a Kahler Flyer trem bridge. After stripping the guitar it looks as if it was cut from the factory to utilize the Kahler. Is this axe original or hot rodded. Any info would be greatly appresiated.}} |

Hot rodded. I don't even think the Kahler Flyer existed in 1980, did it? Pickups are definitely replacements. |

Youur right. The Kahlor is late 80's early 90's. The Bill Lawrence P.U.s. Are they any good? |

Lawrence pickups are very good at what they do. They seem to be better than most at staying clear - even at high gain settings, your notes stay clear and distinct instead os being smeared by the distortion. This specifically applies to his blade-style polepiece pickups. I have no experience with his screw polepiece pickups, but he does produce a high quality product. |
