Beto,

I have an early 70's 2375 strat clone (not a silver series) and the pups in that also had "Excel" stamped on the bottom. I can only assume they're original.

The one I just got--guess it's a 2375 just before they started using the term "silver series"-- serial number K76***-- also has "excel" on all three single coil pups.

Hi Betoblues

Please have another good look at the serial number: to my belief it's impossible that a Silver Series Strat has an A97XXXX number. Should that be A77XXXX?
Kind greetz,
Harry

Hi Betoblues
Wow! If the serial number really is A79xxxx then it's the latest I've heard of so far. Please send some pictures!

Hi Harry, good catch on that serial.I'm interested to see where this one leads.I believe country of sale may be a factor in this one.I always thought that Challengers replaced the Silver line though.I guess this proves that wrong.
On another note,it's been a year and a half since my last post and I can't believe all the new names on the board. Is there an official count? We had our second daughter and time just got away from me.I have a lot of catching up to do.

That's a one-piece headstock?!?!? A one-piece neck? Is the fretboard glued on?
