Isn't that the 480?
Just click on "Search", type "480" and click "Replicas (Ibanez brand ONLY!): Help with identification - semi hollow - thx".

Hasy says he's not sure about the numbers 480, 481 and 482, because the text in the catalogue is too small for his eye sight.

It's either 480, 481 or 482, and it's of the THIRD series, (4 volume/ tone controls) 1966-....
The precise number has to do with trem/non-trem and perhaps with the pickups and/or colour (but I find that last one a bit irrational).

As far as I can see this on has the pickups of the 480 and the colour of the 482 on Hasy's site.

And the vibrato handle is broken.

Ginger, on the irrational number/color thing: Ibanez has 2660 and 2661, both the same guitar (Les Paul model with half vine on fretboard)just different colors (black vs brown sunburst) so I guess it is possible. After all it's Ibanez we're talkin'......

I FIND it a bit IRRATIONAL. But of course that's from a Western (more or less adult) point of view. To my 3 10/12 year old son green guitars are a separate type of instruments too.

I respect that.

Ginger

I think itīs not nice to state that your own opinion is (more or less) adult and that you compare Paulīs vision with the vision of your almost 4 years old son.
I think that you sometimes might think twice before you hit the "post this message" button.

Hi to all.

Ginger, thanks for your first infopart, that`s right !
A nice example from the 480s Thinline 3th serie.

Here the copie of the discussion about the 480s Models:

=================================================

The 480 Series is a special thing, here some identifikations:

The first series in ca 1964/65 .
got 3 Tone/Volume Pots (not inline or lespaul Like) and possible Set Neck Version. Diffrent scratchplate like the later ones, Soundholes are in 3 Parts every side. I never saw one since i collect. The Catalog shows very small thumb pictures, i scan them up to 500 % but its not clear, if its Bold on or Set Neck.
The only one part is, the mounting into the body is round, not square. This could be set neck, Bold on (like mine) got square shapings on the border of the body.

The second series 1965-?
3 Tone/Volume Pots INLINE, square shapes/bindings by the end of the neckjoint, new scratchplate design, two diffrent pickup shapes

The third series 1966 -?
4 Tone/Volume (les paul like), round shapes/bindings by the end of the neck, same pickguard like the second one. Aviable with the "J" tremolo and a simple long non trem version (like es335)

Numbers and Colors:
We got 3 Numbers and 3 colors, but i`m not shure about the right assembly. (the catalog shows, but its to small to read)

480 = mandarin/red
481 = natural/wooden
482 = red/black Burst

================================================

This old Lady is a 482 Model from 1966/67 with a "empty" headstock and the typical single coil pickups.
I saw only two diffend brand names. Barclay and Jason (Austrailian Distr.) The most of the 480s series are sold without a IBZ name on it. Why ? As i know, Hoshino sold 20 % with the ibanez brand and 80 % with diffrend brand names. If you ever see/find one with a metal logo, buy them !

A "must have" thinline guitar for every 60s collector.

Have fun !

Hasy
