Wow :-)

This one is a rare 3903 Ibanez Goldentone Solidbody guitar from 1965, small body version, the later one got a 20 % larger body size. This lady looks good for his age, but a little overpriced.

Where are the collectors in austraila ? Get them !

Hasy, What would the original tuners look like? I'm guessing pearl buttons.

MAN! Little did I know what I had picked up 10 years ago for $20 at the pawn shop. The pickguard is inscribed with "Handcrafted by Hy Lo". It had 4 pickups and I used them for a project and after a sorting of parts I tossed out the control panel.

To make room, where I keep my guitars, I screwed a 2X4 to the back of the body with the neck attached and mounted it to the wall and have been using it as a coat rack. It is problably serving a more useful purpose that way. If I had not tossed the control panel it would have been a great project to restore. Sorry if this offends anyone>

here we got some example of the chapter "whats happened with the old sixties ibanez stuff"

Hi Lo was a subnamebrand of the ibz production in the sixties.

5 of this type of project guitars are still here in my room to restore, but its hard to find the right parts since more than 40 years.

Hi Hasy, yes this one is being watched, just a bit pricey at the moment.

Perhaps you could tell me what this one is ...

Snowjays, our bass-players' Aria has six-bolt neck, and quite similar headstock, so possibly this bass could be from Matsumoku's stable?

Hey thanks Fox, my original thought was that it was an early Greco, and they were both out of the same factory in the mid 60's.

That bass is near-identical to the Aria A-200, which can be seen in a 1975 Aria catalogue on Matsumoku.org. The general concensus over there is that Matsumoku didn't build guitars prior to 1975 - or if they did, there's no documented evidence yet. This thing certainly looks like an older design that's been kept in the range, perhaps as a budget starter instrument.

The 6-bolt neckplate often seems to be connected to the Moridaira factory, who built their own Morris brand & numerous importer rebrands. If the bass is/was an Aria, maybe Moridaira were one of the pre-Matsumoku builders.

Jon.
