Hi

a rare byrd. This maxitone No992(Ibanez subbrandname) is one of the late series (1965) with a diffrent trem unit and a turtiose scratchplate.

Ibanez or not:
We can get in discussions for years, this one is a ibanez or not. This guitar comes from the hoshino factory, is similar to the ibanez production, but got the "wrong" nameplate on it :-(
Some collectors buy only them with the "original" brand name, others get them with the "wrong" nameplate.

As a collectors of the sixties stuff can i say: Only 20% of all produced guitars are sold with the ibanez brand name, the rest got sooooooo many subbrandnames, the list will be too long. Some of the rare byrds are never to find with the original label, so i have to buy them with a subname label, to know, what was produced in this decade.

Is that a shame to get the "wrong" one ?

I found a bizarre axe bass guitar last year. I sort them with the ibz label only one time since 10 years. So i get a "Barclay or Bradley" for to
save them, to get a line in the collection, what was produced.

What do you think ?
