This Australian seller presents a Chinese ARX100 CA as an "ARTIST" / "ATRIST" (arthritis?) and dares to ask AUD $700-900(BIN) for it.
Ebay Item #130134901495

In Germany it's on the list for 359 EUROS, which is $565 AUD gigbag included.

And there are always discounts on the new ones. I've seen them for about 250 EUR or something.

Captain, you must have sold several hundreds of these axes... isn't this outrageous?

Ginger:

To a "vintage Artist lover" it doesn't make a lot of sense, but Hoshino is classifying these ARC and ARX guitars as part of the "Artist" series. From their USA website:

"For over 30 years, the classic Artist design has provided a real, high quality alternative to “the other famous mahogany double humbucker.” The more recent ARC, ARX and the new 2007 ART single cutaway offer more modern variations on the set-neck Artist theme at unprecedented low prices."

To me the ARC500 is just a stunning guitar. Here's a new one from the recent guitar show I attended. They did sell it. Don't know if they got $800.00 or not.

ARC500

The regular Artist 300 and 305 are now under the "Classics" category, along with the Jet King 2 and Iceman 400.

I know, but the high starting bid and the high BIN suggests that it is vintage or at least something special, which it is NOT. (I played one in the shop, and I find them disappointing with those ACH pickups.) He's just hoping for someone who has no knowledge about recent Ibanez guitars.

That ARX500 with a BIN of $600.- looks gorgeous too. At least it's a high type number. With a little luck you get better pickups. Maybe Super 58 Customs? Didn't look at the specs yet, but the flames look promising.

Let's google a bit... indeed Custom 58's.
So that's a far better deal.

I'd be interested to know how an absolutely stunning stage animal can be kept in its case almost all of its life.

Ginger as ya O'l Cappy says with Ebay....Buyer beware.
The Recommended Retail Price for this guitar is $695.00 australian, so if someone is in the market for one they had better do some homework before they suffer "Ebay Rapture" :-(
$900.00 buy it now! I think thats a bit rich and it could be time for the seller to have a couple of valliums and a nice lay down hehe :-)

What's your opinion of the ARC500?

I am very impressed with these Chinese Customs.

He lowered the starting bid to 450 AUD and says he's been told it's an ARX300.
I DON'T SEE A QUILTED MAPLE TOP!
This is a 100 and NOT a 300.

Oh man! In the old listing he even says he's been told it's a ARX500! This is pathetic!
