Help with an old 1982 Ibanez electric

I think that's really cool that you want to fix up your husband's guitar. However, it's pretty far gone. I can hardly tell what model it might have been. A guess would be a BL350??? The addition of the Kahler tremolo pretty much kills it's chances of being restored to original condition. I doubt the pickups are original and the controls look modified, too. Whack a set of strings on it, a couple of cheap control knobs, a rear cover plate , a quick set up at the local music store, clean and polish it up as best you can and sell it as is on ebay...you MIGHT (with a gale force wind behind it) get about 50% of the price of a Blazer or Roadstar...I think restoring it even closely to the original specs (if at all possible) would have to set you back something in the region of at least 120 US + labour...not including taking off the paint job!
