Hey Cap,
I'm hoping you might be able to help me out.I need two of the smaller slotted machines for a '80 ST-980 8-string bass.Do you have a part # incase I can find NOS or any compatable machine? These just have the "Ibanez patent pend" on the back covers.
And,while your looking,if you can find any catalog pages,specs,etc....I would be very grateful.I can't seem to find much of anything about these.

CCS, for goodness sakes, give this guitar a exsorcisim, the sad S.O.B that did this needs a good dose of your Cappy's disintergrater ray for crimes against Ibanez guitars....blaaaaahh. how dare they do this !

Look to be honest they have bought this style tuner back again for the small part of the Artwood acoustic range in 2005 but to be truthfull you can find a similar product made by Gotoh at your local music store. So don't feel threatened that this will detract to the value of your classic...hey its only a set of machine heads...if any collector that is true to his commitment will over look the fact that original machine heads are not really the issue here its more about the rest of your guitar. Besides these 8 string freaks are a very rare bird indeed, from memory ther was only 60 to 80 of these 8 string basses built as a opposition to BC Rich back in the very early 80's so do what ya got to do..but to be honest...just put it under the bed !

Captain Ibanez :-)

These original parts have not been available since 1992

Thanks Captain,
Machines taken care of.Between 60 and 80 huh?No wonder I can't find any info. Please pass it along if you find any.And no under the bed here.Any guitar that comes through this door works for it's room and board,no free rides hereI'm hoping she'll be a great new writing and recording tool.Plus I think she'll look cool in the collection
