Hey there, I have an artist with serial number starting D80.. Neck thru, burst, etc. standard features, except it only has one mini-toggle for coil splitting. Any Artists I have seen from this time period have either 2 mini-toggles or none at all. Can you identify the exact model number?

Thanks!

Artistfirst:

Does your guitar have MOP/Abalone blocks or dot markers? 22 or 24 frets. Of course, photos would be very helpful, if possible.

Has MOP dots and 22 frets, ebony board, gold plated hardware. How do I post a pic?

Artistfirst,

I guess yours is an AR200. The color is AV or BK, right?
The mini-toggle switch is for the "Tri-sound" function of the front (neck) PU.
But, I don't think it's neck-thru.

Artistfirst,

Sorry! You wrote "burst," so, yours is AR200AV, I suppose.
The model appeared in 1979, and (maybe) went out of the market at around the autumn of 1980.

Yeah, that looks like it!! Thanks man. I guess it was short-lived with the one tri-sound toggle. It was my first real guitar (bought new here in Canada in '80) and 6 more electrics later, it is still my "baby".

I recently picked up a used AS-80 which I am having a lot of fun with.
