Hey Ibanez'ers from Victoria, ya Ol' Cappy is on his way to Melbourne this weekend April 22nd & 23rd for the Allans Music Guitar Expo being held at the Melbourne Park Exhibition Centre.

We will have a great display of the new 2006 Ibanez models for all and sundry to drool over...which reminds me I must pack an extra Microfibre cloth !

My clinics will be in Room 2 at 12.30pm on Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday, but I will be on our stand the rest of the time, so come along and say G'day to ya Ol' Cappy this weekend.

See ya there

Captain Ibanez :-)

I have half a bottle left. Grab a couple of glasses from your hotel and we'll have a shot.

I looked every where for the bottle last night. I get the feeling it was finished off at the going away party before I left England in December. .

Will take my camera

First, my apologies to Cappy, Six, and all the other ICW members from Down Under for not getting to posting these pictures that Six took back in April. Without further ado, enjoy!

Jeeez I look old

Wondered what happened to those John. Thanks all the same.

In fact, that was a really nice semi. Great finish and superb craftsmanship. Not as nice as my Weir though.

LesP

Yes correct mate. I took the Weir along for Cappy to have a look at. Lucky I did as the thing got me in the show buck free.

Freak.

Yes it was a very nice guitar. Like I said previously, well made and put together with loving care. Very light finish though. I would prefer it a little blonder looking. Y'know that goldy look say like a blonde AS80 colour.

BTW, my hair isn't really ginger.

That would make you a player then (oversprayed)!

Ginger Ale

PS: I Feel the same about the colour, you mean like your 2355m that's on Smooth's 2355 site? Do you still have it BTW? Did you find a pickguard yet?

I tell you I had a quick strum on those acoustics too. They were VERY VERY nice and looked great, especially the vine model!

Thanks for putting the pics up John. It was great to finally meet Six and his Black Beauty! Looks like a factory finish in the flesh let me tell ya.

Six, I now have the AS103 in the collection now.My darling bride to be bought it for me secretly as a early wedding present :-)
At staff price of course !!!!

Was a good show too! Full house each day...that makes it worth while doing these clinics.

BTW I don't look as pixcelated in person, sorry if this photo scared any younger members...avarst there ya Ibanez plucking seadogs!

That SZ720FM above has a nice top on it! If they did the hardware in gold it would really compliment that finish i much more!

Six,
You & I are apparently the only ones here who've played the Vai EP9 accoustic (aka "the vine model").

I bought one in May & have been trying to get other ICW members' feedback, but very few seem to check the Acoustics page.

I think it's a steal at $1100US (real world pricing), after comparing it to various Martins, Gibsons, Taylors, Laravees, etc.

Any further thoughts... anyone?

Hi Cappy.

Glad you are pleased with the semi. The show model was a stunner. I don't usually mention buying guitars to my wife. Try to keep them a secret.

Jchester

I left my Ibanez Concord back in the UK with a mate of mine so am missing an acoustic these days. $1100 US sounds like very good value for money. Especially when you consider the price of the hand made stuff. My buddy has a "Brooke" hand made in Devon UK. It's a 1st class instrument but cost him the equivalent of $3500 US.
